Rare Beauty Review

Rare Beauty has boomed since its launch in 2020, despite the events of the last year. I have been a fan of Gomez since her Wizard days and was all too excited to support the brand! However, her involvement in the company is only the tip of this incredible brand iceberg! The message of this beauty brand is absolutely beautiful. “It is makeup made to make you feel good in without hiding what makes you unique!” Selena has said from the beginning, she loves the beauty, fun, and creativity of makeup! However she encourages everyone to embrace what makes you, you and rathe r than use makeup to try to look like everyone else, use it to emphasize you’re uniqueness, which I LOVE! She doesn’t condemn makeup or make it to be something to help you blend in, but rather to express your creativity and embrace your looks! It also is a huge supporter of the Mental Health discussion and frequently donates to the cause and began its own foundation. All around, I love this brand and its message, and am happy to support. Below are reviews of all of the products I have used myself!

Liquid Touch Weightless Foundation

I’ll be honest, this is the first foundation I have ever purchased outside of a drugstore. I have always preferred a light coverage foundation or a BB cream because my skin doesn’t need much coverage. Selena sold me on this one after watching how she applies. It looked so lightweight and effortless I thought it would be worth the try! Which it WAS! I love this foundation and is the closest to my natural shade I’ve found! It oxidizes a little, so its a little too on the yellow side for me still, but when I put it on as light as I do it matches just fine. However when I run out I will for sure be purchasing another, but may go a shade lighter. The online quiz is pretty freaking accurate for your skin shade for just using photos though. I love this light, barely there coverage. It feels like your skin and stays put and natural looking all day! I will say it is VERY hard to build coverage with this one though. When I was suffering breakouts, I had to combine with another foundation to hide the hyperpigmentation underneath. Would definitely not recommend if you need better coverage, however its great for a smooth, skin evening, light finish if that’s what you’re looking for! I also love the applicator! be sure to shake before use!

Soft Pinch Liquid Blush

This stuff is so. pigmented. I’m honestly a little scared of it now. if I wasn’t as fair as I am, it would be really incredible I think, but every shade shows on me like hyper vibrant against my pale white skin lol. so I can’t even apply a whole dot of this to my cheeks for color. I require only the teensiest, tiniest speck of this blush to give me the color I want. So at that rate, this blush will last me literally a lifetime, i’m not kidding. For others who require a dot per cheek, I still say with this color payoff, this bottle could last you a year lol. I’m serious about this pigment. Other than the, I love the applicator and the formula. It is a liquid application that turns to a more powdery consistency as it is blended in.

Stay Vulnerable Melting Blush

Now this one costs as much as the liquid but far less product. It still will last me quite a while! But it is far more natural and requires more build up which I prefer. It’s much easier to add more than take away. I love the packaging and the finger application process! It has a little dimple in the center that is perfect for using your finger in. It is so fun and easy to use and is by far my favorite blush I’ve ever tried.

Lip Souffle Matte Cream Lipstick

I need more colors in this. This formula is soooo soft and creamy and comfortable and hydrating!!! I LOVE how this feels! Despite the fact that it does transfer, it’s a formula I wouldn’t mind kissing a boy with..

With Gratitude Dewy Lip Balm

I love the consistency and formula of this. I purchased it in the tint formula which is a great natural color for me. However it still has a little bit more of a lipstick pigment than a tinted balm, so you have to be careful about the application. You can’t just apply it loose goose like a balm, because the color makes it look a bit messy. However keeping it applied to the center of your lips gives a great extra flush of color and moisturizer!

Positive Light Liquid Luminizer Highlighter

I love this formula! I’ve only ever used powder highlighter and maybe that’s where I have been going wrong… I love the way this looks, blends, applies, etc. I like to blend it with my beauty blender or the rap beauty foundation brush. Or for a very light, natural finish, fingers work well too!

Liquid Touch Foundation Brush

Slowly building a collection of all of her brushes. O love the density, the softness, and most of all, the SHAPE of this brush. Absolutely incredible. I like the natural, even finish of a sponge application for my foundation, but I love to use this brush to blend in my primer, blush, and highlighter!

Liquid Touch Concealer Brush

This is the same as the foundation brush in every way but the size. It is made smaller for the precision of a great concealer brush. Excellent for building and packing concealer. Never use my fingers anymore bc this packs the foundation SO much better for full coverage!

Stay Vulnerable Eyeshadow Brush

This is shaped as more of a flathead brush. I love to use for small areas of highlighter application: brow bone, nose, and eyelid for liquid shadow look.

Blot and Glow Touch Up Kit

This is cool and cute and convenient if you’re oily. However I am not. I brought it for a wedding I did the bridal party makeup for. I thought it was great for touch ups and is but gorgeous packaging. But not something I find totally necessary for myself.
