Pier-iod Piece

While it’s still warm, I recommend enjoying the outdoors as much as possible! However it can get a little too warm inner city, so one of my favorite day plans in the summer is to spend the entire day at the Hudson River Piers! Below you will find and itinerary, but feel free to do your own thing and take the recs’ as you wish!

1.     Start your morning/afternoon at City Vineyard- they recently introduced a bottomless brunch menu which I always recommend! However if you prefer to take it easy and sleep in, you’ll still have plenty of time in the day if you’d prefer starting at lunch! Take your time and eat outside if you can! The breeze from the water is incredibly pleasant.

2.     Walk over to a restaurant literally on a boat called Grand Banks!! However, I don’t recommend this one for dining just because it’s on the pricier side, and spending too long on the boat can make you seasick. So just enjoy a drink for the experience and pics!

3.     The Pier is great because they have so many activities available. You will find mini golf, playgrounds, sand volleyball courts, skate park, bike path, and so much more!

4.     Ride a CitiBike for an hour!  I like to do it here along the Pier because the breeze from the water is so cooling, but also because they have a bike path going alongside the Pier. There are no crazy turns and it’s wide enough for two lanes! It’s not too busy, and you don’t have to worry about getting hit by cars. It can be pretty scary biking in the city, but this bike path makes it fun and safe! The address below is the closest CitiBike station that I use!

5.     Now since you’re in a great area, I recommend visiting the 9/11 Memorial and Museum. It’s really beautiful and you’re right by it, it’s just a quick walk from the Pier.

6.     Then I would continue walking over to West Village. West village is beautiful! There’s so much art and life. Take the opportunity to stop by a Starbucks for a refreshment and then hang out in Washington Square Park. It’s a great vibe where people will bring their instruments and play music, perform acts, and just hang with friends!

7.     If you’re still ready for dinner, then I recommend Emily- West Village! They have the most incredible burger…. It’s called the Emily burger, but it’s a whopping $28.00….. So I recommend splitting it with a friend (because its huge) and then order additional sides. Or try the pizza, I’ve heard it’s amazing too!!

9.     You’re also close to SOHO which is where a lot of good shopping is if that is up your alley!
